- Abstract
- X-ray induced acoustic (XA) imaging is a promising imaging technique that can identify X-ray absorption contrast with much reduced ionizing radiation. In this study, we developed the X-ray induced acoustic imaging system that uses a synchrotron and a single-element focused ultrasound transducer. The synchrotron has an energy of 4-20 keV, a pulse width of 30 ps, a pulse-repetition period of 2 ns, and a bunch-repetition period of 940 ns. Due to the short pulse repetition, we obtained the XA amplitude in the frequency domain. Then, we successfully obtained 2D phantom imaging with a lead rectangular target. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.
