Abstract
Reversible electrochromic devices are able to impart energy efficiency jointly with in-door convenience and aesthetic by tuning dual transmittance and reflectance modulations. Switching times are essential for practical implementation of this technology has recently attracted interest. In this study, we report a Ag-based electrochromic device on Al-doped ZnO nanorods electrode that offers reversible switching between transparent, mirror, and black states. We shows that a simple vacuum annealing treatments of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) and Al-doped ZnO Oxide (AZO) nanorods electrode can improve switching perfor-mance and optical modulation. The Ag-ECDs had the optical transmittance of 76.71 % in the transparent state, the reflectance of 86.43 % in the mirror state, and the reflectance of 9.48 % in the black state. We achieved the switching time reduced by about 8 s, compared to before the vacuum annealing treatment in the each of the states.
