Norm attaining Lipschitz maps between Banach spaces

Abstract

본 논문에서는 이전에 정의되었던 노름을 취하는 몇 종류의 립시츠 함수들을 정리하고 분류하여 그들 사이의 관계에 대해 규명하고, 각각의 집합들이 언제 전체 공간에서 조밀하거나 조밀하지 않은지 연구한다.

알려져 있는 노름을 취하는 립시츠 함수들의 집합들은 대부분 일정한 포함 관계를 갖고 있다. 우리는 이 포함 관계들에 대해 구체적인 예시나 언제 진부분집합이 되는 지를 규명해주는 특성화 정리 등을 이용해 분석한다. 더 나아가, 이러한 노름을 취하는 함수들의 집합이 조밀하지 않은 반례를 제시하고, 어떤 경우에 조밀해지는지 라돈-니코딤 정리와 연계하여 특성화를 시키거나 혹은 조밀해지는 충분 조건을 찾는다. 마지막으로, 립시츠 형태로 정의된 Bishop-Phelps-Bollo\'as 정리를 소개하고 어떤 공간의 짝들이 이것을 만족하는지 찾아본다.

In this thesis, we study some versions of norm attaining Lipschitz maps which have appeared recently, and investigate their relations and underlying properties. We look into the pairs $(X,Y)$ of Banach spaces such that the set of certain norm attaining Lipschitz maps from $X$ into $Y$ is dense in the space of Lipschitz maps or not. Some positive or negative conditions on the pairs $(X,Y)$ are also obtained. For instance, we characterize the Banach space $Y$ with the Radon-Nikod\'ym property such that the set of norm attaining Lipschitz maps from $\R$ into $Y$ is dense. We also derive some analogous properties for Lipschitz compact maps. Further, we introduce and study the variation of the Bishop-Phelps-Bollob\'as property for Lipschitz maps.
