- Abstract
- CO2 gas is significantly generated from blast furnaces and sinter plants. To decrease the CO2 emission from sinter plants is necessary to reduce the fuel ratio, which will affect the melt formation and, consequently, deteriorate the sinter quality. To overcome the loss of the melt amount, the current study aims to clarify the effect of adding calcium ferrites to the sinter mix on the sintering temperature and sinter quality. The addition of calcium ferrites promoted a significant drop in the sintering temperature and in the pore size from macro to medium/micro, which might improve the physical properties of the sinter.
