Kirigami is a traditional Japanese art that uses paper cutting and folding to create a three-dimensional shape. Since this art technique can create 3D shapes from 2D materials, research is actively being conducted in the field of engineering to create light-weight 3D structures with advanced properties based on kirigami. Many studies frequently use lattice cut lines to maximize deformation. Nevertheless, crystallographic defects in these lattice kirigami structures have not been studied. In this study, we analyze the effect of crystallographic defects on the mechanical behavior of the lattice kirigami structure. We design a lattice kirigami structure in which cutting lines are arranged in parallel and zig-zag shape. Then, point defects and line defects are applied to the lattice kirigami structures. As a result, displacement, stress, and strain distribution vary locally around the point defect, and the effect of the defect is decaying as it moves away from the defect. In the case of line defects, the outline of the force-global strain relation could also be designed depending on the geometry. We can also observe that the change in displacement, stress, and strain distribution is appeared over a larger area. It is hoped that this study will better understand the defects in the lattice mounted structure and use it to develop a more sophisticated and superior three-dimensional structure.-
