- Abstract
- Knowledge is one of the most valuable resources for business organizations. It helps to create and sustain a competitive advantage by driving the production of goods and services. The purpose of Knowledge Management (KM) is to maximize the utilization of knowledge and gain an advantage relative to other competitors. As an important and essential part of knowledge management, successful knowledge sharing can improve an organization?s competitive advantages and increase the value of an organization?s knowledge assets. Therefore, we should focus on successful knowledge sharing, especially tacit knowledge sharing. Because tacit knowledge is more complicated than explicit knowledge and it is difficult to transfer in organizations. Therefore, the objective of this study is to cultivate knowledge sharing activities through two different approaches based on systematic and quantitative method. A methodology that suggested by this study figures out the current state of knowledge sharing and build Knowledge Brokering System, K-broker, using SNA as participative control. After this, diagnosing the knowledge sharing activity is performed as directive control. Based on these two approaches, this study suggests suitable strategies for tacit knowledge sharing to practitioners. Finally, case study is performed in this paper for applying the proposed methodology to an industry case.
