Abstract
Recently, we found a new mechanism of bubble detachment from vibrating walls. Bubble is detached from wall when water-jets produced by chaotic oscillation at water-air interface completely cover solid-air interface. In this work, we investigate wettability-dependency of bubble detachment from vibrating walls focusing on finding critical acceleration and its tendency to wettability for initiating water-jets and detachment. As a result, the more hydrophobicity requires the more acceleration to initiate both water-jets and detachment. Sensitivity to hydrophobicity of critical acceleration for detachment is larger than that for initiating water-jets. We discuss the experiment results based on shape of bubble and behavior of water-jets- induced droplets on surface.
