- Abstract
- (CeO(2))(1-x)(8YSZ)(x) (x = 0-1.0) was synthesised by the standard solid state method, and sintered at 1600 degrees C for 10 h. The phase compositions of the resultant systems were determined using Raman spectroscopy and powder X-ray diffraction at temperatures up to 1100 degrees C. Phase compositional information was correlated into a pseudo-phase diagram for this system. It was found that the two phases showed limited solubility in one another, and the solid solubility decreased with decreasing temperature. The cubic phase shifts from a ceria character to a stabilised-zirconia character with increase in percentage of YSZ. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
