dc.description.abstractA new mixed sampling plan with a variable lot size plan is developed in this manuscript using the process capability index. The operating characteristic function of the proposed plan is derived and the plan parameters are determined using the non-linear optimization procedure for symmetric and asymmetric fraction non-conforming cases. It is also shown that the proposed plan is more efficient than existing acceptance sampling plans. Industrial data is presented to explain the application of the proposed plan.-
