dc.description.abstractIn view of the potential applications to a separation process of CO2 and high temperature heat recovery process based on the carbonation reaction of CaO, carbonation of CaO and CaO bearing slags such as of CaOSiO2, 2CaOSiO2, BF slags and BOF slags with various CO2 pressure is investigated in the temperature range 573-1273K by using thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA). The carbonation rates decrease rapidly after a particular reaction time due to the CaCO3 layer development. The carbonation reaction for CaOSiO2 and BF slags in the range of temperature from 373K to 1273K with pCO2 of 0.15 atm are found to be negligible due to their thermodynamical restriction.en_US
