- Abstract
- Localization (determining the physical location information) of nodes is crucial for accurately collecting information from each node in a wireless sensor network. Previous works related to localization algorithms only depend on distance measurement information between each node. In sparse networks, however, there are just a few distance measurements which means that nodes can easily fail to perform localization. In order to address this issue, we propose a localization algorithm which utilizes not only distance measurements but also the absence of expected distance measurements between nodes. By comparing our algorithm to previous works, we evaluated the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm through simulation of additional localization for previously unlocalized nodes. In the simulation results, the proposed method succeeds in localizing significantly larger numbers of nodes than previous works.
