- Abstract
- Distribution behavior of phosphorus and metallization of iron in carbothermic reduction of high phosphorus iron ore were investigated in the current work. The reduction behavior of high phosphorus iron ore by carbothermic reduction was evaluated as a function of reduction temperature, C/O ratio and CaO addition. High reduction temperature accelerated both reduction of iron oxide and apatite. High C/O ratio also promotes both of them. Those were contradictory for the goal to obtain high reduction degree of iron oxide and low reduction degree of apatite. On the other hand, appropriate CaO addition improved reduction of iron oxide and hindered reduction of apatite. Metallization of the iron oxide was investigated by QMS connected to TGA and distribution of phosphorus was examined through EPMA analysis.
