- Abstract
- To understand the sulfurization process in the melter-gasifier, this study confirms which work as sulfurizing agent in the DRI melter-gasifier in addition to quantifying the sulfur effect on the formation of cementite in temperature, gas composition range of melter-gasifier. The study was conducted with a CO,CO2,H2 and Ar gas with H2S as the sulfurous gas. DRI pellet was reduced in 63 vol% CO, 15 vol% CO2, 12 vol% H2, 10 vol% Ar without H2S and with 1000ppm H2S from 600 to 1000 oC. To quantifying the sulfur effect on the formation of cementite, the C/S combustion method was conducted. And the product of the sulfidation reaction was determined by the preference of the CaO to the reaction at 600 to 1000oC. The elemental distribution in the reduced DRI were calrifed using XRD, SEM-EDS.
