Abstract
In this study, we prepared superhydrophobic surfaces with hierarchical structures using a di-block copolymer micelle solution. The block copolymers of poly(tert-butyl acrylate) (PtBA) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), having various block lengths, were synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The surface morphologies of the PtBA-b-PMMA copolymer micelles were multi-molecule regulated by block length ratio and solvent power. The variation of structure and micelles size of PtBA-b-PMMA were investigated by SEM. Therefore, it was speculated that the reason for increasing the contact angle in our system (solubility control and spray method) could be due to the small nano-pore size situated of micro-topography in aggregated BC micelles.In the end, we obtained the stable superhydrophobic surfaces with very high water contact angles and low sliding angles using a simple coating method of "crew-cut" micelles solution.
